May Recap:

May Moments: Behind the Lens with Sky Eyes Video

May has been one for the books here at Sky Eyes Video — full of creativity, connection, and some seriously electric events. From helping launch a brand-new venue to capturing bold boudoir sessions and soaking in the sounds of Kelowna’s freshest DJs, we’ve been busy doing what we love: telling stories through photo and video.

Here’s a look back at some of the standout projects we worked on this month:

Grand Opening at Sixteen15

We’re thrilled to announce our recent collaboration with Sixteen15, Kelowna’s newest event space, located in the heart of the city at 1615 Pandosy Avenue. This stunning venue is a fresh addition to the local scene — versatile, modern, and full of personality.

Sky Eyes Video was proud to be part of their official launch, providing both photography and videography for the grand opening celebrations. We captured everything from the bright, elegant daytime showcase with music by DJ Invizible to the electric energy of the evening event with music by Kapital City, giving a full picture of what this space can offer. Check out the DJs at @dj_invizible and @kapitalcitykelowna.

Beyond event coverage, we also had the opportunity to document the venue itself as renovations wrapped up — creating a set of crisp, brand-aligned images for Sixteen15’s brand new website. From the thoughtful decor to the smart, open layout, every detail felt intentional and full of potential.

Whether it’s a workshop, private party, or wedding reception, Sixteen15 offers a beautifully designed and highly flexible canvas for any event. Owners Taylor and Daniel have poured their vision and heart into this space — and it shows. We’re genuinely excited about what’s ahead and can’t wait to continue collaborating with this dynamic team. Check them out on Instagram at @Sixteen15venues.

Boudoir, Reimagined: A Bold Step Into Men's Sessions

This month also brought a bold and beautiful creative challenge as we expanded our boudoir photography offerings to include a fresh new segment: Men’s Boudoir.

Our model, Papa Playtyime, brought incredible energy to the shoot — always moving, full of charisma, and, honestly, someone who could be teaching modeling courses with the amount of natural rizz he brought to every frame. Together, we crafted a session that felt bold, confident, and deeply expressive. Check out @xxwallawallawillyxx for more burlesque show dates and shoots.

We used a variety of props and styling elements, each carefully selected to enhance the vibe and highlight his unique presence. The final images are nothing short of striking — balancing masculine strength with a playful edge.

These photos will soon be featured in promotions for upcoming burlesque shows and other online creative content. And for us, this shoot reaffirmed something we truly believe in: Boudoir is for everyone. It’s a chance to explore your sensual side, to celebrate your beauty — whether bold, soft, hidden, or loud — and to tell your story in a way that feels authentic and empowered.

Latin Fiesta Friday Patio Party at Casa de Frida

We had the absolute pleasure of attending the Patio Party Fiesta at Casa de Frida on Lawrence Avenue, @casadefridakelowna. It was such a treat to connect with the wonderful owners, Nathy and Luis, out on their warm, colorful, and inviting patio — a perfect setting for a lively spring night.

The music was on point, and one of the best parts was connecting with the Kapital City crew — a new and exciting DJ collective that’s been lighting up Kelowna’s event scene. Big shoutout to:
🎧 Paul @paullrusu
🎧 Matt @matthewjmuscat
🎧 Alex @betonred.dj
🎧 Joel @21realms.wav
🎧 Amber @amberrozenza

These guys brought serious vibe, and we’re excited to see where their sound takes them next.

And let’s talk about those #1 Margaritas in Kelowna — absolutely nothing to sneeze at. They were a standout: gold flakes, handcrafted flair, and a whole lotta love in every glass. You could feel the passion behind every pour.

The energy was bopping, the conversations were flowing, and the party carried on well into the warm Kelowna night. A beautiful celebration of music, community, and summer vibes — we were so glad to be there with cameras in hand.

Onward and Upward

From sleek new venues to bold boudoir and nights under the stars, May has been an inspiring month full of creativity, community, and expression. Thank you to everyone who collaborated with us, trusted us with their stories, and made space for our cameras.

We can’t wait to see what June brings.

April Recap:

April Highlights: Community, Creativity, and Catching Up

April was a month full of connection, creativity, and growth for us. From powerful moments in the heart of our community to high-energy performances and expanding our services, we’ve been both busy behind the scenes and out capturing it all. Here’s a look at some of the highlights from the past few weeks!

Honoring Culture and Community with Poppa Nuge
We had the honor of attending a heartfelt gathering at the plaza near the Sails, where our local beatboxing star, Poppa Nuge, led a powerful prayer. The memorial, followed by a beatbox performance, was held to shed light on a recent loss in our community. We captured some beautiful shots of Poppa Nuge as he spoke out for his culture, using his voice and art to bring people together during a difficult time.

Celebrating 10 Years of Big Valley Battles
Later in the month, we headed to Dunnenzie's in the Mission to film and photograph the 10-year anniversary party for Big Valley Battles. It was an incredible night filled with electric performances from BC Twitch, Yung Hondo, $ully, and the headliners, The Brokeboys and many more. The energy was contagious, and it was inspiring to see these talented artists collaborate to put on such a stellar show.

Bringing Homes to Life with iGuide Realty Services
On the real estate side, we continued working with our realty clients, providing photography and iGuide services to help showcase properties in the best possible light. Whether it’s a cozy apartment or a luxury home, iGuide tours offer an immersive way for buyers to explore listings online — often boosting interest and helping homes sell faster. We're excited to keep offering this incredible tool to support local realtors and sellers.

Catching Up Behind the Scenes
Between all the events and shoots, we also spent time catching up on editing — though there’s always more on the way! We’re grateful for the trust our clients put in us and are working hard to deliver beautiful, polished work across all our projects.

Thanks for following along — we can't wait to share even more in the coming weeks!

March Recap:

March Amplified: Capturing the Heartbeat of Kelowna’s Music Scene

This March, our cameras rarely stopped rolling. From rowdy band battles to moody speakeasies and sold-out local shows, we had the privilege of documenting some of the most electric moments in Kelowna’s music scene. The energy was infectious, the talent undeniable, and the stories unfolding on stage were too good not to share. Here’s a look back at a month that turned the volume all the way up.

March was an incredible month for us in the music and entertainment scene, filled with electric performances, exciting events, and unforgettable moments behind the camera.

One of the biggest highlights was photographing the Battle of the Bands at Red Bird Brewing Co. The competition was fierce, but two standout local acts—Lucky Monkey and Crush XO—stole the show with their magnetic stage presence and infectious energy. It’s no surprise they came out on top! As winners, both bands have earned a spot at this summer’s Rock the Lake Music Festival, and we can’t wait to see them light up the stage once again. Other awesome performances came from the Pickleheads? and Brokedown Trucks, who brought their own flavor and fire to the night.

Later in the month, we had the pleasure of catching Lucky Monkey at O’Flannigan’s during St. Paddy’s Day weekend, where we filmed a feature video of their high-octane performance. Their showmanship was off the charts! Around the same time, we captured Crush XO back at O’Flannigan’s, and let’s just say the flash photography practically took itself—these two bands bring raw power and charisma every time they hit the stage.

Mid-month, we were invited to the Grand Opening of Evilgenius Artworx tattoo parlour, where we met a new band on the scene: The Wild Cards. With their rock-and-roll vibe, punchy covers, and a gritty metal edge, this three-piece group definitely made a strong first impression. We had a blast capturing their energy and style as they helped kick off a new chapter for the parlour.

But the month didn’t slow down. We were thrilled to be part of a high-energy performance by rising local stars Cobra Radio, handling both videography and photography for their epic Saturday night set at The Blue Gator. That venue was absolutely buzzing—it’s rare to feel that kind of electric atmosphere in Kelowna, and we’re so glad we got to help capture it.

Rounding out the month, we headed downtown to Casa de Frida on Lawrence Ave. to showcase the launch of their new Fridays at Frida’s Salsa Night. The upstairs speakeasy was transformed into a sultry, mysterious dance space full of rhythm and life. We were thrilled to create a promo video for the event and help spread the word about this unique addition to Kelowna’s nightlife.

While the music scene as a whole was vibrant and exciting this month, a few acts truly stood out. The undeniable connection that Cobra Radio, Lucky Monkey, and Crush XO share with their fans is something special. Their energy, passion, and presence set them apart—and we’re lucky to have been there to witness and document it all.

February Recap:

Poppa Nuge Feb 2025

February was a busy and exciting month for us at Sky Eyes Video & Photography! We had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from real estate photography to capturing live music events. Here’s a quick look at what we’ve been up to:

Real Estate Photography Success
We partnered with several local real estate agents to photograph stunning properties, helping them showcase homes in the best light possible. One of the properties we shot sold in just three days! It’s always rewarding to see our work play a role in a fast and successful sale. High-quality images make a difference, and we’re proud to help agents and sellers put their best foot forward in the market.

Frantic’s Album Launch Party at Dunnenzie’s
We had the pleasure of attending our friend Frantic’s rap album launch party at Dunnenzie’s. This local pizza spot is known for its great atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food and drinks. The venue has a warm, old-school Italian feel on one side and a more modern, high-top seating area near the extensive bar on the other. The event was filled with energy, great performances, and an engaged crowd.

There were a total of nine acts throughout the night, including members of The Bear Theatre, Songs by Death, Fungle Jungle, and more! The evening culminated in an electrifying performance by Frantic himself as he launched his new album: A Verdant Reverie: Act I.

All profits from the night went to support Solidarity Sundays, an anti-capitalist mutual aid collective helping Kelowna’s unhoused community with meals and essential resources. Every $2 donated provides a meal and warm drink to someone in need!

Beatbox Battle at Pretty Not Bad
Another highlight of the month was heading to Pretty Not Bad (PNB) to watch our friend Poppa Nuge host and compete in a beatbox battle. The night was packed with incredible talent, including a standout performance from headliner Shalina. We had the unique opportunity to plug directly into the venue’s audio, allowing us to capture high-quality video and sound for both Poppa Nuge and Shalina.

With Phil’s extensive experience in music production, sound engineering, and post-production, we knew the recordings were in the best hands. His expertise ensures that every detail is fine-tuned to create a polished and professional final product. He is more than just our music producer—his deep understanding of audio dynamics and artistic vision helps elevate our projects to the next level.

It was an amazing experience to be part of such a dynamic and creative event, and we can’t wait to share the final videos soon!

As always, we’re grateful for the opportunities to capture these moments and work with such talented individuals. We’re looking forward to what March has in store—stay tuned for more updates!
